Hyndburn Community Network
About Us
During 2011 -2012 the Network will be working on projects to develop the capacity and skills of the members of the socially and economically disadvantaged community of Hyndburn in such a way that they are better able to identify, and help meet, their needs and to participate in society. We will advance the relief on unemployment including assistance to find employment by providing opportunities for residents to participate fully in the life of their community in ways which address and alleviate social and economic disadvantage.
The Network will continue its community engagement and development role by bringing together community, voluntary and faith sector groups (VCFS) in Hyndburn for the benefit of the community of Hyndburn and act as a resource for the VCFS in Hyndburn. The Network’s aim is to work with communities to develop strong, active and empowered communities, in which people are able to do things for themselves, define the problems they face and tackle them in partnership with public bodies and Government.
The Network will promote the voluntary, community and faith sector for the benefit of the public within Hyndburn and its neighbourhoods. We will work with organisations and charities which are established for purposes that add value to the community as a whole, or a significant section of the community.
We will promote equality and diversity, racial and religious harmony and work with young people up to the age of 24 by organising programmes and activities.
More information is available in the Mission Statement, Charity Objectives and Powers sections of the Network’s Memorandum and Articles of Association and other pages on this website.
