One North West and Women's Solidarity Forum respond to David Cameron's multiculturalism speech Download
David Cameron’s speech on multiculturalism in Munich signaled a major statement from the coalition Government about its thinking on race equality.
Daniel Silver and Amina Lone, BME Women’s Solidarity Forum have written a short analysis of the speech and have concerns with the direction that is being proposed by the Prime Minister. There are many contradictions in the speech, and the potential rise in Islamophobia that could occur as part of a wider policy is very worrying.
There is a petition around this issue at: http://tinyurl.com/643psse
Finally please would anyone experiencing cuts to put them on http://voluntarysectorcuts.org.uk ; This will only take a few minutes but is crucial to show the extent of cuts in the BME voluntary and community sector, and is currently being under-reported.
