Community Safety Partnership
'Working together to make Hyndburn a safer place to live, work and visit'
The Community Safety Partnership is aware of the need to work together to tackle issues that can have a negative effect on the lives of people living and visiting the borough. To this end the Community Safety Partnership formed three thematic working groups aimed at tackling the three major concerns and high volume crimes that effect living:
• Criminal Damage Working Group
• Vehicle Crime Working Group
• Violent Crime Task Group
The groups are practically based and deliver initiatives in conjunction with other partners, examples include:
• Secured additional and improved street lighting in crime “hot-spots”.
• Bespoke fire safety packages installed in vulnerable households.
• Altn8 alcohol project delivered to encourage sensible drinking, thereby reducing violent crime.
The Community Safety Partnership is currently tackling:
• Crime & Disorder
• Substance Misuse
• Anti – Social Behaviour
• Quality of Life (Environmental issues)
