Hyndburn Children & Young People's 3rd Sector Forum

The Hyndburn Children and Young People's 3rd Sector Forum is a Hyndburn-wide body with a wide-ranging remit.

Membership is open to all voluntary, community and faith sector organisations providing services to, or representing the views of children, young people and families.

The Forum aims to provide diverse voluntary, community and faith sector representation on the Hyndburn Children’s Trust and sub groups to ensure the sector’s views and interests are heard.

It also aims to provide a mechanism for accountability to voluntary, community and faith sector groups providing services to children, young people and families.

The Forum will provide support to members.

Activities at meetings will include:

  • Guest speakers
  • Workshops
  • A resource pack for members with regular updates
  • Information on funding and commissioning
  • Information on key topics such as safeguarding,common assessment framework, every child matters, vetting and barring
  • Latest training opportunities
  • Support for members on running their groups including funding applications, governance, project management and other topics as requested by members.


Objectives:
The Forum will elect representatives from among the member groups of the Hyndburn Children and Young People's 3rd Sector Forum to the Children’s Trust annually or as required.

The Forum will advocate and lobby on behalf of the voluntary, community and faith sector.

The Forum will share information with and consult with Forum members.

The Forum will develop awareness and understanding of the Every Child Matters agenda and the Children’s Action Plan within the voluntary, community and faith sector and develop a collective and cohesive voice for the voluntary, community and faith sector on the Trust.

The Forum will help build the capacity of the voluntary, community and faith sector to engage in the Trust.

The Forum will support voluntary, community and faith sector representatives in a way that promotes the engagement of the sector as well as its representation.

The Forum will work jointly with statutory organisations to promote effective partnership working between the public and voluntary, community and faith sector.

The Forum will support the participation of children, young people and families in the Trust and the Forum.
